Three Steps to Make Twitter The Killer Web 2.0 Tool For Your Business

I first created a personal Twitter page on the 1st February 2008. A short time later, I also created one for GMHBA Health Insurance.

Twitter has been described as a micro-blogging tool. However I believe it's use is half customer service and half conversation. The customer service aspect is quite straightforward. You can announce every innovation of new product relevant to your business.

With luck your post (Tweet) might even be re-Tweeted or repeated on other peoples' Twitter pages. The conversational aspect is important too as you can create useful networks and gain insights into your niche that may not otherwise be on your rader.

There are some advantages to using Firefox when it comes to Twitter as there are some cool Twitter tools that can morph Twitter into a full multi-media platform.

Step 1: The most important start is to have something interesting to say in 140 characters. I'm not a fan of 'what I just ate' trivia on websites. (138 characters).

Step 2: The second most important step is to link your site to your Twitter page. You can see our Twitter link on our home page at PrepaidHealthInsurance.com.au

Step 3: Customise your Twitter background to suit your business and create an animated GIF for your picture! My picture alternates between me and the GMHBA logo. A link between the author and the brand will make your posts stand out.
